On October 1 at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, India added two silver medals and three bronze medals on Day 12, and the men's hockey team defeated Pakistan 4-3 to reach the final.

Prince Noble and Manu Francis secured silver in the men's skiff event, while Nitesh Siwach finished second in the men's Greco-Roman 97kg final; India collected five medals across sailing, wrestling, archery and squash on the day.

In sailing's Men's Skiff (49er) at Aichi-Nagoya, Prince Noble and Manu Francis completed nine races and finished with 23 points to take silver, winning race 3 and placing second in races 1, 5 and 9.

Nitesh Siwach advanced to the Greco-Roman 97kg final — becoming the first Indian Greco-Roman wrestler to reach an Asian Games final since 1962, ending a 64-year wait — and lost the final 0-4 to Japan's Yuri Nakazato.

India's men's hockey semi-final against Pakistan ended 4-3 after Abhishek scored in the final minute; India had opened a 2-0 lead inside the first 15 minutes before Pakistan pulled level in the final quarter.

Both Indian squash teams earned bronze after semifinal defeats: the women's side (Anahat Singh, Joshna Chinappa, Tanvi Khanna) lost 1-2 to Hong Kong after Anahat won the first two games but Sin Yuk Chan recovered to win, and the men's team fell 1-2 to Malaysia where Abhay Singh was beaten by Eain Yow Ng, Veer Chotrani won the second match and Velavan Senthilkumar lost the decider.

In archery, Ganesh Mani Ratnam claimed bronze in the men's individual compound event, defeating Vietnam's Cong Duc Dang 149-144 in the bronze-medal match after a 144-148 semifinal loss to Korea's Kim Jongho; Chikitha Taniparthi, who had earlier won two team golds in compound, was eliminated in the individual quarterfinal.

Other results on Day 12 included Mansi Ahlawat losing the women's 62kg bronze bout to Mongolia's Altjin Togtokh after the match was level at 2-2 until the final 10 seconds, the men's sepak takraw quadrant team topping their group unbeaten to reach the semifinal, Anish finishing fifth in the men's 25m pistol event, defeats in volleyball and rugby sevens, and the women's golf team lying third with the men fifth after two rounds.

After Day 12 India have 65 medals in Aichi-Nagoya — 10 gold, 23 silver and 32 bronze — and confirmed places in multiple gold-medal matches: the men's hockey team will contest the men's final, the men's cricket team will face Pakistan in the gold-medal match, and the women's hockey team will play China in the gold-medal match (the women's winner will secure direct qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics).
