ICC reports 15,083,752 applications in ticket ballot for 2027 World Cup

The International Cricket Council told reporters in Dubai on October 13, 2026 that more than 1.5 crore ticket applications had been received in the ticket ballot for the 2027 Cricket World Cup, which went live 12 days earlier. The statement from the ICC confirmed the volume of interest across global markets.
The ICC’s 50-over tournament will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia from October 2, 2027 to November 21, 2027. The competition will conclude with a final scheduled at the Wanderers in Johannesburg, and the Cricket World Cup is returning to South Africa after a gap of 24 years.
According to the ICC, a total of 15,083,752 ticket applications have been received, producing 4,423,417 ballot registrations generated by fans from across 142 countries. The figures were provided in an official ICC statement released on October 13, 2026.
The ticket ballot will remain open for registration until November 21, 2026, exactly one year before the final at the Wanderers. Fans who wish to participate in the ballot have until that closing date to register, the ICC said.
“The overwhelming demand for tickets is testament to the stature and appeal of the Cricket World Cup, the allure of Africa as a destination and the anticipation for the event generated by the ICC and its partners’ promotional activities leading up to the event launch,” Sanjog Gupta, ICC Chief Executive Officer, said.
“With a year to go, the ICC has planned an exciting runway of 360-degree activations, multi-platform campaigns and content line-ups, which will elevate the fandom associated with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027,” Mr. Gupta added.
Registration for the ticket ballot closes on November 21, 2026, the ICC confirmed, leaving fans with a defined window to enter the draw ahead of the tournament that starts on October 2, 2027.
