Smriti Mandhana keeps top spot in ICC women's ODI rankings after India captaincy appointment

Smriti Mandhana retained the top position in the ICC women's ODI batting rankings in the latest update released on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after being named India's captain. She leads the ODI batting charts with 790 points.
Mandhana, a left-handed opener, recently took over the India captaincy from Harmanpreet Kaur and remains India's highest-ranked batter in the ODI format. Harmanpreet is the only other Indian in the ODI top 10, occupying ninth place. Australia's Ellyse Perry returned to the top 10 in the latest update.
India placed three batters inside the top 10 of the women's T20I batting rankings. Shafali Verma was the highest-ranked Indian in fourth place with 759 points. Mandhana sat fifth with 754 points and Harmanpreet was tenth on 656 points.
India also held the top two positions in the women's T20I bowling rankings, with Shree Charani leading on 817 points and Deepti Sharma second on 754. Deepti was India's only representative in the top 10 of the women's T20I all-rounders' rankings, where she was placed fourth. In the ODI all-rounders' rankings, Deepti occupied sixth position.
In the women's ODI bowling rankings, Deepti Sharma dropped one place to ninth. Australia's Annabel Sutherland and Megan Schutt both improved their positions to move into the top five. The update noted Deepti continuing to feature across multiple categories among India's leading performers.
India were ranked third in both the women's ODI and T20I team rankings in the latest update. Mandhana's retention of the ODI batting summit shortly after her appointment as captain coincided with multiple Indians occupying high positions in the individual rankings.
