India begins Day 5 of the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya on September 24 with early medal events scheduled in rowing and wushu, and shooting competitions opening in the morning session.
India enters Thursday having crossed double figures in its medal haul and currently holds 12 medals at the end of Day 4 — 1 gold, 5 silvers and 6 bronzes — with the Indian women’s cricket team’s gold and Mirabai Chanu’s silver in weightlifting the campaign’s prominent results so far. The team’s Day 5 programme starts at 5:30 am IST, with athletes listed for medal opportunities across rowing, wushu and shooting; officials say Indian competitors are entered in as many as 12 medal events on Thursday and that total could rise if swimmers and shooters qualify for additional finals.
Rowing supplies multiple medal chances for India early in the day: Balraj Panwar is scheduled in the men’s single sculls final at 5:10 AM, while Satnam Singh and Salman Khan contest the men’s double sculls final at 5:30 AM. The women’s four final, featuring Gurbani Kaur, Aleena Anto, Tendenthoi Haobijam and Poonam, is listed for 7:10 AM.
