India name 12-member archery squad for Asian Games 2026; schedule and streaming details
India have named a 12-member archery squad for the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, which run from September 19 to October 4. The squad forms part of a 508-member Indian contingent for the Games.
India’s archers enjoyed a strong return from the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games, where the sport produced five golds, two silvers and two bronzes. Compound specialists Ojas Deotale and Jyothi Surekha each won three gold medals at Hangzhou, and Surekha is included in the Aichi-Nagoya archery contingent.
Jyothi Surekha is entered in the individual and team compound events and will be joined by Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep, who are two-time Archery World Cup silver medallists. Sahil Jadhav, the Asian Archery Championships silver medallist, and youngster Kushal Dalal are named to lead the men’s compound team.
In recurve, Dhiraj Bommadevara will lead India’s challenge; the Paris 2024 Olympian recently became the first Indian male recurve archer to win gold at the Archery World Cup Final. Fellow Olympian Ankita Bhakat is also in the recurve squad, alongside Kumkum Mohod, a two-time Archery World Cup gold medallist.
