On October 31, 2026, Ubisoft published a franchise update blog stating it is not currently developing a remake of Assassin’s Creed 1 and laying out plans for upcoming projects including Assassin’s Creed Hexe, a multiplayer title codenamed Invictus, and an update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

The announcement followed months of speculation about an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake, particularly after the commercial and critical attention given to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. Ubisoft said the blog was intended to clarify the franchise’s roadmap and to address circulating rumours about remakes.

Ubisoft explicitly stated that no other Assassin’s Creed remakes are currently in active development and that the company’s focus is on new games. The studio added that it is working on several projects, some of which have not yet been revealed.

The next major single-player entry identified in the update is Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which Ubisoft said is in development and progressing very steadily. Ubisoft described Hexe as “the upcoming darker entry in the series.”

The company also confirmed a new multiplayer project, Assassin’s Creed Codename Invictus, is in development. Ubisoft said Invictus has already gone through the first round of playtesting.

Ubisoft announced a forthcoming update for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that will add New Game Plus, new outfits, gears, resources and many other things. The Valhalla additions were listed alongside the broader slate of franchise work in the update blog.

The studio expects to reveal Assassin’s Creed Hexe in 2027. Ubisoft stated it will continue exploring opportunities to remake classic Assassin’s Creed games in the future.
