Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer urged Rishabh Pant to improve his performances in a Times of India report published on October 14, 2026, saying Ishan Kishan is "closing the gap" and that Dhruv Jurel has emerged as another contender.
Jaffer said the upcoming domestic and IPL seasons will be crucial for Pant.
He praised Pant’s match-winning ability, comparing his impact to former Australian wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist.
